An ultra-slim smartphone with an ugly name

A few weeks ago we learned that Panasonic is back on the European telecommunications market, and today we know that this return will be really noisy. A waterproof smartphone Panasonic Eluga will hit stores in April.

The Japanese company will attack with a strong hitting, presenting a smartphone, which is not only well equipped but looks great. In fact, the least impressive is its name - ELUGA, which sounds like something borrowed from Russian. The phone has an ultra-slim D shaped design, the back is the finished with a single piece of metal, while the front is covered with smooth glass, under which there is a 4.3-inch display with a qHD resolution, which is 960x540 pixels, featuring 16 million colours. It is worth noting that the narrow frame surrounding the display and the flat, measuring less than 8 mm thick cover. The body will be produced in black and silver. Inside there is running a dual-core processor clocked at 1 GHz, supplied by Texas Instruments, and 1 GB of memory. The user will also have 8 GB of built-in storage medium, but he will have to obtain the microSIM card, because Panasonic has equipped the smartphone in such a slot.

The phone allows you to use HSDPA, HSUPA and HSPA + in the bands 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz, it has the modules Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 2.1, DLNA and NFC. There is also the system of light, acceleration and position sensors, as well as a built-in GPS and a microUSB connector. And talking about the system - as previously announced it will be Android - originally Gingerbread 2.3.5, but shortly after the launch there will be possible update to Ice Cream Sandwich. On Eluga's board there will also be an 8-megapixel camera with image stabilization and digital zoom and video recording. The phone will be powered by batteries with a capacity of 1150 mAh, which will provide up to four hours of talk time or 300 hours standby. Unfortunately, the battery will be unavailable to you, hidden in the casing, which potentially raises the costs of its possible replacement. Integrity of the casing is not only a requirement of stylists design it, but also the international standard IP57 of water and dustproofing. It can therefore be safely used in rain or exposed to dust, which is the icing on the cake of specifications.

ELUGA's launch was announced for April, but there has not been given even an approximate price yet.
