All those who were expecting to see a new iPhone today - will be disappointed. At the WWDC Apple showed "only" new MacBooks Pro and Air, and a new iOS6.
If you want to read news about the new apple laptops I refer to competitive websites, I can describe the changes that a new system brings that will come soon to your iPhone and the iPad. Unfortunately, not to all of them. It will not go to the first generation of iPad and iPod touch 3G... although there will be a version for the old iPhone 3GS. When? In September, though developers can now install the beta version.
Today's WWDC has not thrown us to knees, there are no surprises, because all of the key changes in iOS were discovered some time ago. Among them the new maps (not Google), or full integration with Facebook. A function "do not disturb" promises to be a nice feature, disabling all the annoying reminders (which, incidentally, you could always just turn off...) or the option of rejecting a call with a message explaining our nasty behaviour.
Let us return for a moment to the maps. They are the sole work of Apple (in cooperation with TomTom), so we can expect the full perfection ;)
There will be three-dimensional visualizations of buildings, beautiful graphics, smooth movement, and integration with Siri and Facebook, the traffic data, millions of POIs and so on. Certainly the refresh rate of the map view will change, since they resigned from bitmap to vector.
Face Time lovers will enjoy the fact that this service will also operate in iOS6 through transmission of 3G, not just Wi-Fi. The convenience of sharing photos was also improved - we can now define separate streams for different groups of friends - which is further evidence of closer integration with Facebook. Apple also assures that the electronic assistant Siri is smarter and more accurate than before. There is also the Passbook option, which is a kind of ticket-check system, which will retain our seat or password using the QR-codes.
I am much more cheered by the Guided Access function - that is simply a tool for parental control. With this, a parent or a teacher will be able to restrict a child access to particular applications or to prevent the output from the programme, which currently a child should use... Such a small tool of coercion ;)
An e-mail client was also remodeled. What is new is the possibility of separating the VIP box for the selected contacts, adding attachments was also facilitated. In Safari, Reader option was improved, where you can keep the entire, complete web sites for viewing offline. There are also bookmarks in iCloud and the ability to send pictures to the community without leaving the browser. In Find My Friends there are new notification options, and there was added to Find My iPhone the ability to remotely lock the lost phone with a password and call-back option for a fixed number without unlocking the phone... in case the thief chose to give us our phone back. We can also follow on the map the road that the lost iPhone had gone.
There was also changed all the stores of Apple and also cateedr for the Chinese market. Especially for the Chinese, in the Safari appears Baidu and Sina community, Youku and Tudou searching. There will be also the Chinese dictionary and an improved text input.
I limited myself to mentioning the most important modifications, which carries the new iOS. There are reportedly more than 200 changes, but I suspect that even the most ardet iFans wouldn't bear reading a complete list of. Finally - the icing on the cake. A new casse for iPad now also protects the back of the tablet! WOW!
