Do you remember Nokia N9 with an exotic MeeGo system? Despite appearances, this system will not disappear from the market as the only one smartphone that has ever had it. It has a chance to return ... in China!
That's because after the market failure of the project N9, the company Jolla took further development of MeeGo. And it entered into cooperation with a Chinese distributor D.Phone, who will be selling the new smartphone with that system. Unfortunately, it is not known what the phone we are talking about, because it has not been created yet. The D.Phone does not even have their own website, but in marketing communications it boasts with two thousand retail outlets, and also that it is "a rapidly growing company in the mobile industry." So far everything looks not very professional, but if you believe Jolla announcements, a new look of MeeGo and a smartphone with it will be shown this year. I prefer not to predict what will happen to this interesting, but poorly accepted by the market system. On the one hand, we are talking about a huge and ever insatiable Chinese market. On the other hand - that market took the possession of Android, bulk packed in a low-cost smartphones, abundant pouring out from the gates of hundreds of local manufacturers. Is there a room for MeeGo?
