Smartphone for Jackie Chan

Asian mobile market is different from the European one. Another evidence to support this thesis is the latest offering from Samsung - SCH-W2013. This phone almost certainly will not come to us, but it is so interesting that I decided to show it to you.

Samsung SCH-W2013 is a smartphone built in an almost unprecedented in this class of mobiles clamshell form. On the outside flIp IT has a 3.7 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. After opening the casing we will see the same display, accompanied by a classical mechanical keypad. I must admit that despite the unusual form, the phone looks really uprightly. A dark casing with brushed metal texture is accompanied by copper-colored inserts (or maybe golden ...), and the whole styling is based on the raw, simple lines. In terms of specification the smartphone has nothing to be ashamed of. It supports two SIM cards. It has a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, which is supported by 2 GB of memory and a system controlled by the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Samsung SCH-W2013 also has a 16GB of internal storage, microSD expansion of up to 64GB, it also has two cameras - a 1.9 and 8 megapixel and is powered by the battery with a capacity of 1850 mAh.

But this is not the end of curiosities. Action star Jackie Chan is involved in a promotional campaign of this model in the Far East. The B-movie actor is facing a challenge - he must promote a pretty good phone with a totally exaggerated price. SCH-W2013 is priced at - attention - 2900-3200 dollars (depending on the version of the casing). For that amount, you can have a decent laptop, not to mention the phone - here we can choose the models made by hand and customized. And here - we deal with the premium Samsung... But apparently Asians think differently, because it is the second model in the series. The previous one, shown about a year ago, SCH-W999, cost $ 1400, but had much weaker specification. And if there is a successor - there must be a demand...

    Will RIM pay Nokia?

Concern RIM which produces BlackBerry smartphones, is not doing well lately. Sales od "blackberries" falls, and it is highly likely that RIM will have to pay Nokia royalties for every phone sold with Wi-Fi.
