I think everything is clear. Samsung publishes an invitation to its conference within the framework of the MWC. And on it ...A tablet! So we give up the dream of the February launch of Galaxy S8, and instead - we are waiting for Galaxy Tab S3.
On the Samsung site there has already appeared an invitation to the press conference, which will take place on the eve of the fair MWC - Feb. 26, about 7PM in Barcelona's Palau de Congressos de Catalunya. At the invitation we can see the outline of the device which is to be a star of the first in this year Samsung Unpacked. Unfortunately this is not the flagship smartphone - but the new tablet. Probably - Galaxy Tab S3.
The device with the same name has already passed the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth certification, and recently appeared in the list of American certifier FCC. In the list of FCC appear two versions of the tablet: SM-T820 with Wi-Fi module connectivity and SM-T825 - a variant enriched with modems, 3G and 4G.
A few days ago, Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 also appeared in the benchmark GFX Bench. We learned then that it has a 9.6-inch screen with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels and a quad-core Snapdragon 820 2.15 GHz with Adreno 530 graphics chip, supported by 4 GB of RAM. The benchmark also mentioned the 32 GB of internal memory, a slot for a microSD card and two cameras - 12 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front. The tablet will work on Android 7.0 Nougat. The benchmark also confirmed the existence of two versions of the tablet - Wi-Fi and LTE.
Information from the GFX Bench supplement the data cited by AndroidAuthority. The website, quoting Korean source confirmed the release date, adding that the tablet will be very slim - it is to have a 5.6 mm thickness. From the same source comes the information about the price, which is expected to be approx. 700 thousands won, or $ 605. It will not be, therefore, a cheap equipment...
I secretly hope that apart from an expensive tablet, Samsung will show us something else. Perhaps a new watch - or rather the band Gear Fit Pro...? Silently I count also on the launch of some affordable smartphone ... Otherwise – this will be the least thrilling Samsung Unpacked for years.
