Contrary to expectations, Samsung did not present at the IFA a new tablet - but probably it will soon do it. The German service Winfuture has already reached the official photos and specifications.
For now, it is not yet certain whether the SM-T380 and SM-T385 models (which differ in the presence of the LTE modem) will hit the market as Galaxy Tab A 2017 or as Galaxy Tab A2 S, but we already know what they will look like and what equipment they will receive.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2017 will be an inexpensive tablet equipped with an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor based on the ARM Cortex A53 with a 1.4 GHz clock. The tablet will also receive 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of flash memory and a slot for a microSD card.
The equipment will also include a 5 megapixel front camera with a f/2.2 lens and an 8 megapixel f/1.9 rear camera armed with the LED flash. Samsung has also installed a 5000 mAh battery powered by a USB Type C port. The tablet is to receive dedicated software for children, as well as a blue light filter and a power saving mode. These figures coincide with those previously reported by TENAA. The tablet will be available in black and gold, and its price will start from around 220 euro. The LTE model is to be 100 euro more expensive.
