System and applications
Huawei P40 Lite E has Android 9 Pie and the EMUI 9.1.1 add-on. We do not know whether this model will receive an update to the higher version, but I would not count on it. Security updates are from the 1st of February 2020. But even with the older Android and the not so new EMUI version, the smartphone works without any problems – it works smoothly and fast, I did not notice any lags or slowdowns while running other apps or switching between them.
The biggest flaw of Huawei P40 Lite E is of course the lack of Google Mobile Service, which is the lack of the Google Play store and the support for services and apps of the American giant. This is of course the consequence of the political-economic war between the USA and China (though it hit Huawei hard the most). There is a store of the Chinese manufacturer that is App Gallery, but the lack of Google apps and some other popular ones, which I use every day was bothersome. But, just like with Huawei P40 Lite, using Phone Clone or Chat Partner we can – unofficially – download Google Play, Gmail, YouTube, Maps and other apps from Google to the phone that officially does not support it. And everything worked fine. What is more, we know that Huawei will take into account warranties even when there will be changes in the software made by users – which means that we have a quiet permission to search for ways of installing GMS.
