In the heat of Monday noon we received another Windows-based Nokia. Literally I ripped open the envelope and I share with you the first impressions...
The smartphone is packed in a typical Nokia blue box. At the insert retaining the foliated phone I found the manual and a classic set of accessories: USB cable, AC adapter and stereo headphones. The headphones - I must say at first glance - are not top-ones. They do not have a key to operate, not to mention the volume control. Thereis just a microphone on a cable and in-ear transducers made of hard plastic. They poorly lie in the ear, and I do not suspect that they offer good sound quality. Fortunately, the phone has a minijack output, so we easily replace them with better ones.

It should also be noted that the USB Adapter provides the 1.3 A output current, therefore you must take it into consideration when buying a replacement or a car charger. Lumia 720 can also be recharged with a weaker power supply, for example, 500 mA, but it will take much longer. The package contains the warranty card and the manual. It is quite large and contains a lot of clear illustrations.

It's time to see the phone. After a while, I can say, "I like it"! Nokia consistently promotes a simple, cost-effective styling. The front creates a uniform, dark tile of a display, surrounded by a narrow plastic frame, smoothly passing on the sides and back of the phone. The casing is undecomposable, and thus very rigid and probably durable. I have not found any quality deficiencies at the first sight.

The back of the handset is smooth, gently contoured and has a matt structure - all this makes Lumia 720 fits perfectly in hand. On the right side we find a classic for Nokia set of buttons - sequentially, from the top: the volume switch and the camera button, the presence of which I emphasize and praise. At the bottom of the phone without surprises: the microUSB and the microphone. We can find surprises however on the top and on the left side of the smartphone. There are as many as two trays – for a microSD memory card, and a microSIM. We can find a needle to open them in a box - glued to a cardboard covering the phone. My guess is that both cards can be replaced without turning off the phone - but I'll check it.

The modest back is diversified with: the embossed logo of the manufacturer, the camera lens and the discreet speaker holes. What I did not like? The camera lens forms one surface with the rest of the body, making it easier to scratch. To make it funnier, the LED flash, which is next to the camera lens, is hidden in the contour of the casing... I did not like the uncovered headphone hole – it makes the slim casing ugly. On the back I saw three mysterious contacts. They are likely to communicate with the docking station, but the manual is silent on this issue, I did not find any docking station to Lumia 720 on the Internet...

Browsing the menu I have not found any surprises, the only new feature that I have not seen in Nokias with WP8 is the Glam Me application, dedicated - I think after a quick check – to lovers self-portraits. I will describe it in detail in the review... Music lovers will enjoy the application that allows you to choose from thousands of recordings available online (Nokia Music), there are free maps and navigation for travelers. There is also NFC, e-wallet and office suite, but gamers will be disappointed. To play in anything - they must visit the app store. After visiting the menu I inadvertently checked the display. It has a great touch screen and nicely captures the colour, but on the technical side it is nothing sensational. I hope that after a few days of using Lumia 720 I will not change my mind. The battery still has 50% charge, so I get down to work. I invite you for the review in about two weeks!
