Vestel: Turkish smartphones from IFA

Published:

Looking through my materials from the IFA I came across some pictures of the Vestel company. This Turkish company, although almost unknown in our country had in Berlin an impressive exhibition, taking entirely one of the halls. We - of course - looked around for smartphones...

Vestel founded in 1984, is one of Europe's largest TV manufacturer, also produces players, multimedia equipment and other home appliances. Vestel is the owner of among others Finlux, Graetz, Luxor, Vestfrost, Waltham and Telefunken. We will not, however, talk about TVs or refrigerators... let's look at smartphones. The Vestel presented under its own brand, but I'm not sure whether these are Turkish company own designs. On the one hand, the momentum with which the entire exposure was prepared suggests that Vestel's can afford its own engineering department and made it cheaper and easier to order a batch of appliances in China with its own logo and take care of the marketing. Whatever the case, Vestel's smartphones present themselves decently, though none of them is an outstanding and cutting-edge design...

Vestel ML43 has a 4.3 -inch IPS display with a resolution of 960x540 pixels and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. There is also 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of memory for data , Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, and the phone supports quad-band GSM and WCDMA 850/2100 MHz. The phone is supplied with a 5-megapixel camera and a 2 megapixels front camera.

Another model - HL47 - is similar in many respects, but it has already a quad-core processor, and - as it is clear from labeling - larger, 4.7-inch display. The Vestel's flagship smartphone is, however, a 5-inch HL50. Here, the camera already has a 12- megapixel sensor, there is also different screen resolution - up to 1280x800 pixels. Compared to the lower models there's also grown memory - 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of ROM. All Vestel's smartphones are operating on Android 4.2 , and the styling hallmark is a stylized, silver letter V, integrated into the panel with sensors below the display.

I'm sorry, but at this moment I cannot give further construction details of the shown smartphones, but the chances are that all the gaps will be filled in: the manufacturer's representative promised to contact us after the Berlin Fair. Apart from the data, I was able to determine that the phones will be made available in German stores. And, of course, they are already in Turkey...
