Fashion for front cameras mounted on retractable "periscopes" is widening and is entering the mid-range models shyly. An example is the new Vivo S1.
Thanks to the mechanism allowing to hide an unused selfie camera, it has been able to remove the notch from the 6.53-inch IPS Full HD+ screen with an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9, while maintaining a relatively small frame. This is not a completely frameless display - but looks pretty well for a medium-range phone. The heart of Vivo S1 is the Helio P70 processor, supported by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, which can be enlarged with a microSD card.
The retractable camera has 24 megapixels and a lens with f/2.0 aperture, while the main camera behind it has three matrices. The main has 12 megapixels and the lens f/1.78, and the supporting one - 8 mega and wide-angle glass with aperture f/2.2. The last of the rear cameras, 5 Mpx, f/2.4 is used to blur the background. Power is provided by a 3940 mAh battery with fast charging of 18 W. As the system - Android Pie, enriched with a Funtouch OS 9 overlay and the Chinese voice assistant Jovi AI. The smartphone has all the necessary communication modules, including a curiosity - Wi-Fi also in the new 5.8 GHz band. There are two colours to choose from, and the price of the phone is 2,298 yuan, or $ 341.
