Honor 20 – a nice family
Honor 20 is the basic smartphone of the series, and at the same time its general name. The family also includes Honor 20 Pro and Honor 20 Lite, which specification we have known for quite some time. - However, we met it under the name Honor 20i.
Honor 20 Lite - 3 cameras, a reasonable price
Honor 20 Lite is a smartphone based on the Kirin 710, with three rear cameras, including the largest with a matrix of 24 Mpx, with a front 32 Mpx camera and a 6.21" IPS display operating at a resolution of 1080x2340 px. It offers 128 GB flash memory and 4 GB of RAM in free Honor 20 Lite will be sold for 299 euro. The price seems quite attractive, even if we take into account the presence of a droplet notch disfiguring the slightly clean display line.
Honor 20 - display with a hole and 48 megapixels
Honor 20 has no notch, only an IPS display with a 6.26" 1080x2340 px diagonal with a 4.5 mm hole for the front camera, while the rear camera set consists of 4 separate sensors. The main camera is a Sony IMX586 module with a matrix of 48 Mpx , with a bright f/1.8 lens, with pixels combined into fours, resulting in a 1.6 μm superpixel at a default 12 megapixel resolution, which allows the producer - like in competitive solutions - to take pictures in low light conditions.
The second camera has a wide angle lens with a field of view of 117°, aperture of f/2.2, with a matrix of 16 Mpx. The third eyelet will assist the user when taking macro photos; has a matrix of 2 Mpx, aperture of f/2.4 and pixels of 1.75 μm. It allows you to take pictures from a distance of up to 4 cm. The last inconspicuous eye is the ToF sensor responsible for the depth. An inconspicuous matrix with a resolution of 2 Mpx and pixel size of 1.75 μm is accompanied by a lens with a f/2.4 aperture.
A nice surprise - apart from an attractive photographic set - is a fingerprint reader in a practical place - on the side of the housing, also the Kirin 980 processor with WiFi support in the ac standard and surround sound. The battery is charged with a 3750 mAh battery with a fast loading of 22.5 W SuperCharge. Honor 20 works under the control of Android 9.0 Pie with the original Honora Magic UI 2.1 cover.
In the variant with 128 GB flash memory + 6 GB of RAM, Honor 20 will cost 499 euro.
Honor 20 Pro - the star with the brightest lens and 2x OIS
The biggest star of the launch was of course the flagship Honor 20 Pro. It would seem that the set of rear cameras is very similar to that of the basic model, but nothing more wrong. The Sony IMX586 module takes the lead, but with a lens with a record brightness of f/1.4. Optical stabilization is present here and in the camera with telephoto f/2.4 and 8 Mpx matrix, thanks to which Honor 20 Pro will offer a lossless 3x zoom. The camera with a wide-angle lens has the same parameters as in the Honor 20, i.e. the field of view 117° and the aperture f/2.2. The last eyelet is again a 2-megapixel unit for supporting macro photos. Laser autofocus will help in measuring the distance.
Judging by the photographic parameters, we'll get a worthy competitor of Huawei P30 Pro (though without a record-breaking zoom), which thanks to a strong lens and double optical stabilization should be perfectly suited for night scenes.
Honor 20 Pro was based on Kirin 980 with 8 GB of RAM. The user will receive 256 GB of flash memory, a display with a diagonal of 6.26" and a resolution of 1080x2340 px, a front camera with a matrix of 32 Mpx (in the screen hole) and a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh with a fast loading of 22.5 W. A fingerprint reader again wandered to the side of the casing.
We will pay 599 euro for Honor 20 Pro in the 8/256 GB version.
