As announced, HMD Global today presented, at the same time in Milan and India, a new, inexpensive smartphone Nokia 2.2.
Nokia 2.2 is a model from the lower price zone, but this time the manufacturer took care of the attractive appearance, referring to the more expensive models. The smartphone received a screen with fashionably narrowed bezels and an equally fashionable, droplet notch in the upper part. The back is a smooth surface, varied with a logo, a speaker slot and a camera frame, also including the LED diode. The housing is in black and graphite. Nokia 2.2 gives the possibility of personalization, returning to the replaceable Nokia Xpress-on housings. Nokia Xpress-on enclosures can be easily replaced in a few seconds, and they will be available in pink, blue and green. Interestingly, the smartphone has a dedicated key to use the Google Assistant. A short press of the button launches the Assistant, while a long press gives access to detailed tasks.
The Nokia 2.2 screen has a 5.71 inch diagonal, a 19: 9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution, which together gives a 269 ppi density factor. The screen protects glass 2.5D. The heart of the smartphone is the quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor, supported by 2 or 3 GB of RAM, which is combined with the internal memory of 16 or 32 GB, of course with the possibility of using a microSD card.
Nokia 2.2 supports LTE as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 4.2 or GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou navigation, also has a minijack and an FM radio. The system connector is, however, older type - microUSB, but with OTG. The smartphone received a 5-megapixel selfie camera, as well as a 13 megapixel main camera and a f/2.2 aperture. The software has the artificial AI intelligence. Based on it, the functions of Google Photos such as Color Pop or Colourise allow you to create eye-catching photography, turning black and white photos into colourful or embellishing the natural features of selfies. In addition, the camera has a working mode in difficult low light conditions. This is a novelty in this price range. The camera takes several shots simultaneously, and advanced algorithms create the final image, which is characterized by more light and detail and less noise.

In turn, Google Lens allows you to search the surroundings, and when you come across an item that you like, just point the camera lens at it to find out how to buy it. You can also direct the lens to the cover of the album to discover new music and immediately play it through music services such as Spotify. As the system we have Android Pie and the promise to upgrade to Android Q - Nokia 2.2 is part of the Android One program. The smartphone will receive operating system updates for two years and monthly security updates for three years.
