As another prelude to the Wednesday launch of the Galaxy Note10, Samsung today introduced its new smartwatch: Galaxy Watch Active 2.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is available in two sizes - 40 and 44 mm - and two styles, sporty, with an aluminum housing and a plastic band, and elegant - with a steel housing and a leather band. The bands can of course be changed - they are standard, 2 cm. You can also adjust the watch face to your outfit - all you need to do is to take a photo of the fabric that the watch face fits - and place it in the My Style tab in the Galaxy Wearables app that accompanies the watch. The rest - it will do itself.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 has a Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 x 360 px and a size of 1.2 or 1.4 inches, but - unlike its predecessors - there is no longer a movable ring around the screen - it was replaced by a touch panel with a similar way of use. The screen protects Gorilla Glass DX+, and the entire housing is waterproof (IP68) and durable (MIL-STD-810G). The heart of the watch is the Exynos 9110 processor, supported by 768 MB or 1.5 GB (in LTE version) of RAM and controlled by the Tizen system.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 has an 8-diode optical heart rate monitor with increased precision, which can also perform electrocardiograms. The watch supports 39 different activities, but each has its own subcategories. The watch uses GPS, an accelerometer and a barometer to measure exercises. There are also special modes for meditation and rest - and of course the full range of functions of a typical smartwatch. The device prices start at 279 and 299 dollars.
