I invite you to read my review of my favorite smartphone this year. Yes, I won't deny it – Samsung Folds have been my favorite devices for years, and the seventh generation is a perfect continuation of that tradition.

Small, Big Changes
At first glance, the changes in the new Fold may seem merely cosmetic, but in reality, they are significant and impact everyday use. This year's Fold has undergone significant changes compared to previous generations. It's significantly slimmer, and its sleek design makes using the device even more comfortable. It has slightly different proportions for the external screen, and therefore, for the internal screen as well. It's also a bit lighter. Initially, I was worried that I wouldn't like the new, thinner form factor. However, it turned out that I still find opening the smartphone with one hand quite comfortable.

Samsung claims that the new Armor FlexHinge used in the Fold 7 is thinner, lighter, and more durable than in previous models, significantly improving the durability of the design. The new hinge not only improves aesthetics but also functionality – the Armor FlexHinge minimizes the visibility of the screen bend and increases the rigidity of the mechanism. Samsung has thus come closer to the ideal in foldable smartphone design. I don't know why, but only with foldable Samsung phones have I always been able to comfortably open them with one hand. I've never had this experience with other slim designs. I was afraid that the thinner Fold would be inferior to its predecessor in this regard – thicker but easier to use. Fortunately, the new form factor turned out to be excellent, and when folded, the Galaxy Fold 7 resembles a regular smartphone, which is a major advantage in everyday use.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 combines the functionality of a classic smartphone and tablet, offering completely new ways to use the screen. Thanks to its innovative design, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is equipped with both an external screen, which is perfect for everyday activities, and a large internal screen that, when unfolded, transforms the device into a miniature tablet. This model allows you to conveniently switch between modes – from quickly checking notifications on the external screen to comfortably watching videos or working with several apps simultaneously on the internal screen.

Build quality
What hasn't changed is the premium feel. Unfortunately, this year I got the black and gray variant, rather sad, but still elegant. The materials are excellent, the assembly is perfect, and the hinge works just as well as ever. The phone feels less tight in your pocket because it's much thinner – practically the thickness of a regular phone. This makes it fit better in your hand. The ergonomics remain largely unchanged – the keys are where they should be, and the overall user experience rivals that of the best smartphones. A new feature is the fingerprint reader.

It's now narrower, but it works much better – you just need to touch it with your finger. This is a feature already seen in other Samsung smartphone models. Of course, there's also facial recognition, but I traditionally stick with the fingerprint reader – it's more reliable security. Not everything is perfect. The protruding camera bezel is a constant annoyance. When the phone is placed flat, it wobbles on the desk, which is irritating. I take comfort in the fact that it provides additional support when held in my hand – a small consolation, but still.

Displays
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is, of course, all about its screens. The main screen features a large, 8-inch display with near-square proportions (2184 x 1968 px) and an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, ensuring high image quality and user comfort. The external screen is 6.5 inches and has an unusual resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels, also with an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. Both displays are AMOLED, and the internal panel stands out for its high image quality, HDR10+ support, and excellent brightness and color saturation. Both the external and internal displays are very comfortable to use, even in direct sunlight. Unfortunately, the internal display tends to collect fingerprints more easily and still has a visible crease in the center of the screen, but it's minimal and doesn't interfere with everyday use. From experience, I can tell you: after a few days, you stop noticing it.

Typing on the large, foldable screen is a breeze. The keyboard is huge and comfortable, so I often skip my laptop and type on the Fold. The large screen and the large display provide a much larger workspace, making it easier to work, edit documents, or use apps. The Fold 7 is also great for watching videos and movies – the image and sound quality on the large screen is impressive. Working with apps is smooth, and the system allows you to run up to three apps simultaneously, significantly increasing the device's functionality and comfort in working with various apps.

System and Features
We have the latest Android 16 with the updated One UI overlay. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 runs on Android, which, combined with the extensive One UI customization, ensures high functionality and comfort of use. Switching from one Samsung to another is pure pleasure – I feel right at home. The large screen allows you to use multiple apps simultaneously – you can split the screen into two or even three parts. You can also drag and drop files between windows, which makes work much easier.

One UI 8 introduces new features that enhance the device's usability and offer innovative solutions for everyday use. Samsung provides 7 years of Android update support – a huge plus, guaranteeing long-term security and software development. We also have the advanced Galaxy AI, which is truly impressive this time: it works in Polish, supports a transcription assistant for converting recordings to text, text summarization, translation, and integration with the Gemini Live feature, allowing for contextual conversations with the AI assistant in real time on the Fold's large screen.

Performance
Specifications? Snapdragon, UFS 4.0 – in short: lightning fast. In synthetic tests, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 achieves very high scores, confirming its position among the top devices. Performance in this model is very high – the phone is incredibly smooth, free from stuttering, and heat generation is minimal. Benchmarks show throttling, but in everyday use, in most situations, I didn't notice any slowdowns. The smartphone remains one of the most powerful smartphones on the market. Performance is simply excessive.

Battery and Charging
The 4400 mAh battery isn't much in theory, but thanks to battery optimization in the Fold 7, the device easily lasts a day, sometimes even a day and a half, maybe even two, on a single charge. Charging is only 25W via wired charging, but it's fast up to 70-80%, only slowing down after that. It takes about an hour and a half to fully charge the battery. Inductive charging is also available.

Cameras
The 200 Mpx main sensor, which is the main sensor, comes straight from the Galaxy S25 Ultra and performs exceptionally well in terms of photo quality. The quality of the main sensor translates into detailed and natural-looking photos, especially in various lighting conditions. There's also a 12 Mpx wide-angle lens with autofocus (great macro) and a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. I don't recommend the 30x digital zoom.

The selfie cameras – two 12 Mpx cameras – do their job. The main camera, of course, performs best at night, where Night mode automatically enhances the quality of photos and videos in low light, providing clearer and more detailed results. The entire setup delivers consistent colors and truly impressive results, and photo editing on the Fold is highly advanced – you can use AI tools to enhance and modify photos.

4K video recording is available on all lenses, with seamless switching – the video quality is very high and beats many competitors. Compared to other models, its camera stands out for its versatility and features that will be appreciated by both amateurs and more demanding users.

Security and Support
In everyday use, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 prioritizes security and convenience. The fingerprint reader, integrated with the power button, allows for quick and secure unlocking of the smartphone – a single swipe is all it takes to access all functions. Additionally, Galaxy AI introduces intelligent solutions that support users in numerous tasks – from transcription to real-time translation.

Samsung also ensures regular software updates, which translates into long-term security and stability of the device. Both the external screen and the internal display are protected by a special layer of glass that protects them from scratches and damage, ensuring peace of mind during everyday use.

Value and Price
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is a proposition for the most demanding users who expect more from a smartphone than just basic functions. The price of this model is high, but fully justified – it features a large screen that facilitates everyday use, as well as an advanced main camera that allows you to take photos at the level of flagship smartphones. In addition, there are innovative AI features that significantly increase productivity and comfort. Compared to other foldable smartphones on the market, this model stands out not only for its build quality, but also for the number of available features and manufacturer support.

Summary
The overall experience with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is very positive – the device truly transforms everyday smartphone use. Compared to traditional and standard smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 stands out not only for its ability to fold the screen out to the size of a tablet, but also for its support for Dolby Atmos technology, which ensures excellent sound quality when watching movies or listening to music. This device combines a huge, comfortable screen, multitasking, excellent performance, decent cameras, and a decent battery. It's also slimmer and more elegant than its predecessor. It's not for everyone – neither is it cheap nor without compromise. But if you consciously choose the Fold, I guarantee you'll be happy. I recommend it without hesitation.
