Packaging and accessories

The set in which ZTE sells the Axon 7 Mini model should please its buyers. We will find in it a charger (1.5A), a USB-microUSB type-C cable, an interestingly profiled earphones, device for opening SIM tray and a silicone etui. And a handful of papers. Basically everything that we need in order to use the smartphone.

Battery

ZTE Axon 7 Mini has an irreplaceable 2705mAh cell with the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 function. Thanks to this technology the battery is fully charged in 1.5 hour. Here is partial data:

• an hour of video streaming – 19% less battery life
• an hour of playing Real Racing 3 - 34% less
• standby mode (10 hours) - 4% less
• the lifespan with the display on, 50% brightness, streaming video through Wi-Fi in the YouTube app – 7 hours and 25 minutes
• slightly more than 5 hours in the PC Mark Battery Work benchmark

And how does it look during an everyday usage? If we will push the smartphone slightly harder it will not reach the evening, we can deplete it in few hours with gaming. Being used extremely economically it could work for over two days. But on average we must deal with the fact that it will last for a 1.5 day, maybe for a whole day and it will be left with some battery till the evening.

Summary

In theory, Axon 7 Mini is a compact version of the Axon 7 model. The “Mini” in the name is not quite accurate – the 5.2-inch smartphone is not a trivial thing and it is only a 0.3 inch smaller than its flagship brother. Basically it is not its smaller version, but a rather weaker one – and available for those with smaller wallets. That is why the name “Lite” would have been more appropriate. But let us leave this matter. Is ZTE Axon 7 Mini worth its price? If you care about a great sound, good display and an overall efficiency, if you accept an average quality of photos and if you will befriend a powerbank – then yes :)
