On October 23 Apple unveiled a series of new products. Two iPads and new MacBooks Pro, Macs Mini and iMacs. The biggest surprise of the evening was the fourth generation of iPad!
The conference - as usual - started with counting numbers. 3 million iPods sold and 200 million devices upgraded to iOS6, 125 million documents in the iCloud ... these were the first numbers. Head of Apple Tim Cook has revealed that 300 billion iMessages have been sent since the platform launched. Then he talked about the applications. There are already 700,000 iOS apps and 275,000 iPad-specific ones. 35 million apps have been downloaded, and the developers were paid out $ 6.5 billion.

Screen sizes are 21.5 and 27 inches, with resolutions 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 pixels respectively and 300 nits brightness. In the middle there are Core i5 or i7 processors, NVIDIA Kepler graphics, up to 768GB of flash or 3TB HDD, and 32GB of RAM, a set of four USB 3.0 ports and three Thunderbolt ports. What is new is (obviously optional) hard Fusion Drive - a hybrid consisting of 128GB of flash storage mixed with 1 or 3GB HDD. The cheapest model will cost $ 1,299.

And finally we managed to go to the climax of today's programme. iPad! At the beginning, we learned that they have sold more than 100 million, the iPads generate 91% of tablet web traffic, and people love them. Tim Cook also claims that mainly because of "iPad's legendary, all-day battery life..." Yeah, sure...
Cook still does not show the novelty, and dwell on the use of the iPad in education. At this point, I wanted to invite him to a typical Polish school .... There were two sentences about iBooks and burst out the news: the fourth generation iPad! Surprise, surprise ... and A6X processor, improved graphics, HD FaceTime camera, Lightning connector, dual-band WiFi, working with new LTE networks (Sprint and KDDI) - all still in black and white versions.

After the iPad 4, it is time for the iPad mini. It looks like an enlarged iPod Touch. Slim, you can hold it with one hand. It's 7.2mm thick, and has 7,9 inches. Developers can breathe - resolution will not change. The large iPad has Retina and the mini - the resolution as the iPad 2 - that is 1024x768 pixels. Then we saw a comparison of the iPad mini and "some" tablet - I bet that Nexus 7. It was to prove that the iPad with a screen with an aspect ratio 4:3 is better. Granted, for reading it may be so ... iPad mini has in the middle the dual-core A5 processor, FaceTime HD camera and 5-megapixel iSight camera on the back with 1080p recording. The new dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi and, of course, a Lightning connector.
