One of the most interesting phones of this year's MWC is undoubtedly a smartphone of the Russia's Yota Devices. What is special about it? The phone has two screens! The classic front display, while at the back - additional e-ink screen.
At the interestingly arranged stand the presented phones are "behind the glass", it is impossible to verify their capabilities. However, we were able to get a copy in the hand and to convince the President of the company, Vladislav Martynov for a short talk.

In an interview, Yota’s CEO dwelled mainly on the advantages stemming from the presence of an additional e-ink screen. And this is quite a lot. First of all - we gain additional space to display all messages - for example, new messages or notifications list. We can also view there the wallpaper, personalizing our smartphone. Importantly, the screen displaying the image does not use any power, therefore, it does not exhaust the battery too quickly. E-ink uses the energy only when you change the image, therefore, it can display a static image for hours and it will not run out of power.

Here is revealed another advantage of this solution - when the phone battery is low, you can copy an image from the main screen on the secondary e-ink, in which the image is retained even when the phone is off. This allows us to leave, in case of the emergency, on the e-ink screen a note with the address, phone number, or a ticket with a barcode...

It’s time for some data. Yota Phone uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8960 Dual Core 1.5 Ghz Krait processor, supported by 2 GB of RAM. It has a 32 or 64 GB of memory, a 12-megapixel camera, NFC and LTE module. The battery has a capacity of 2100 mAh, and both displays have 4.3 inches. The main colour display has a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. Vladislav Martynov did not tell us the price of Yota Phone smartphone, however he said that the first deliveries are planned for September. First, the phone will go to the Russian carriers, and to talk about the global distribution it is still too early.
