The launch of Samsung Galaxy SIV

Instead of a revolution - we have evolution. The new model resembles its predecessor, though, of course, there is quite a lot of changes. Samsung Galaxy SIV - against the wishes of some users of the previous generation flagship - still has a plastic cover. It preserves the style of its predecessor, although the body is lighter and slimmer – it measures only 7.9 mm thick. At launch there will be two colours available: Black Mist and White Frost, more coming soon.

The smartphone will be available (depending on market) with a 1.9 GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor or a 1.6 GHz octa-core Exynos processor. Unfortunately, we do not know yet which version will hit our market. Systems will be combined with 2 GB of memory. Samsung Galaxy SIV also has a 16, 32 or 64 GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot supporting media up to 64 GB. The phone has Wi-Fi a / b / g / n / ac, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0, as well as an infrared transmitter and MHL 2.0 output. SIV also has GPS and GLONASS modules.

Galaxy SIV supports all modern protocols, high speed internet access, including HSPA+ 42 Mbps and LTE. What is worth noting, Samsung took care of maximum compatibility - the new smartphone, thanks to the Hexa-band will work with high-speed LTE in every corner of the world, and not, for example, only in the USA. What's more, this year Samsung will launch a version that supports two standards at the same time LTE (TDD / FDD).

The 5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 1080x1920 pixels (441ppi) is quite impressive. The screen protects Corning new Gorilla Glass 3. The new smartphone has a main camera with a resolution of 13 megapixels and the front camera with 2 megapixels. It can operate in Dual Camera, in which the image is captured by two cameras (front and rear) at the same time. When shooting, you can enjoy a range of special effects and frames which allow for the combination of two images or videos. For example, with the filmed image of the object, we can record our video comment. The Dual Video option allows you to do video conferencing with multiple friends at once. You can also record short video form called Drama Shot, showing key action in the form of a looped portion of the film.

The body of the new model measures 136.6x69,8x7,9 mm, and weighs 130 g. Galaxy SIV draws power from the battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh.

The Korean company's flagship model could not miss interesting extra features. Let us list some of the key ones:

• 'S Translator' provides instant translation, using text or voice translation on applications including email, text message and ChatON. This instant translation is possible both from speech to text and text to speech and ensures that you can rely on the correct information whilst abroad.
• S Health - The combination of sensors built within the device systematically and automatically monitors your health, surroundings and so much more to help improve your quality of life. Also, users can easily check their health conditions using food diary, exercise diary and sleep monitor to stay fit and healthy. (Certain functions are enabled by specific accessories.)
• 'Samsung Adapt Display' provides an optimal viewing experience, customized for each type of application.
• 'Samsung Adapt Sound' offers an optimal level and type of sound, personalized for each user, to make the most out of life.
• 'Story Album' curates content, such as SNS posts, memos, location and weather information, as well as photos and videos, to create a photo album which is personalised around your timeline of special occasions and events.
• With its 'Group Play' function, users can enjoy music, photos, documents and games with those around them without even requiring a Wi-Fi AP or cellular signal. This innovative feature enables users to connect directly with others to share, play and co-create content and entertainment instantly.
• Its 'Share Music' option allows users to have the same song playing on multiple phones in sync to create the best party atmosphere.

The manufacturer has not forgotten about the spectacular solutions which also enable using the smartphone without touching the screen:

• 'Samsung Smart Pause' enables you to control the screen by where you look. When you are watching a video, the video pauses when you look away then it starts right up again when you are back.
• 'Samsung Smart Scroll' allows you to scroll the browser or emails up and down without touching the screen. It recognizes your face looking at the screen and movement of your wrist and then scroll the pages up or down accordingly.
• 'Air View' allows users to hover with their fingers to preview the content of an email, S Planner, image gallery or video without having to open it. You can even see a magnified view on the internet browser, or a phone number saved in the speed dial on the keypad.
• With 'Air Gesture', you can change the music track, scroll up and down a web page, or accept a call with a wave of your hand.
• With 'S Voice Drive' you can activate commands via voice control for optimization when driving. Once connected with a car Bluetooth, the phone automatically turns into driving mode converting text to speech so you can easily and safely check messages with no need to look at the screen.
• 'Samsung Optical Reader' makes life yet more effortless, by automatically recognizing text, a business card or QR code information, and providing useful functions such as translation, call, text message and search.
• At home, using 'Samsung WatchON', the GALAXY S 4 will transform into an IR remote to control your home entertainment system including TV, set-top box, DVD player and even air conditioner. In addition, you can enjoy various content including live TV, cable TV and VOD based on the rich information provided by EPG (Electronic Program Guide).
