How much is the production of Galaxy S4?

Published:

IHS iSuppli service tried to estimate the components and calculate the cost of production of the Samsung Galaxy S4. It turned out that the construction of a single copy is clearly more expensive than it was for previous generations.

Unfortunately, iSuppli notes that the figures are estimates only. They were virtually calculated, based on the information available on the phone. Typically, the service takes smartphones apart and performs a valuation on the basis of visible items. This time - with the inability to obtain a copy, it was done differently. Even if the data is not accurate, reliable is the fact that the construction of the new model is more expensive than producing a single copy of Galaxy S3. The cost of Galaxy S4 HSPA+ version is $ 236 according to the calculations, which is almost $ 40 more than before.

This results from the use of such clearly more expensive, costing $ 70 display. The processor is also more expensive about 12.5 dollar, currently costing $ 30. The cost of production also increases the use of new sensors, humidity, temperature and infrared sensor, which, instead of $ 12.70 as in SGS3, now cost $ 16. The last element, which is more expensive than ever, is the 4G wireless communication module. Because of the six areas of service, the price is as high as $ 25. HSPA+ module used in "3" cost $ 16.
