Xperia Z affected by sudden death syndrome

Published:

On several forums there are disturbing reports concerning Sony's flagship model. Xperia Z suddenly, without any apparent reason stops working and can not turn on again. Sony knows and wants to fix the problem.

So far there is no common pattern of behavior that leads to failure of Xperia Z. The phone does not go off as a result of a particular action. The cause of the failure is not caused by mechanical damage or caused by tampering with the software.

The phone works and suddenly turns off. In some cases, a hard reset of the phone (switch + button to increase the volume) worked, but unfortunately it is not a universal solution, because other users are reporting that the phone even after a hard reset, still does not work.

Some users have suggested that failures occur at almost depleted battery, but others have reported that the shutdown was while the phone was almost fully charged. Sony Mobile knows the problem and indicates that the patch will come out with the next update of the software.
