The Internet rifes with gossips and conjectures, what Facebook will show on Thursday. The most likely topic of tomorrow's presentation will be an overlay on Android or a smartphone developed in collaboration with HTC dedicated to enthusiasts of the service.
Some of the rumors talk about a dedicated interface on Android, equipped with tight integration with Facebook, including home screen, contacts, camera and voice-text messaging. Some experts talk even about a dedicated ROM, others say it will be a minimally personalized launcher, and some mention a new application. Personally, I lean toward the last of the rumours...
The @evleaks service predicts that Facebook will show us "its" smartphone, manufactured (like once ChaCha and Salsa) by HTC. In support of its argument the service publishes a render of the model known as First or Myst and gives its partial specification. According to the leak, HTC First aka Myst is to be a mid-priced model, equipped with a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 720p and a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM 8960 and 1 GB RAM. If the rumours materialize, Facebook fans will be able to publish photos taken with a 5-megapixel camera and communicate through a 1.6-megapixel front camera. The phone is to work under the control of Android 4.1.2 with Sense 4.5 overlay, with, of course, the tight integration with the FB community. @evleaks also suggests that rather sad and stamped styling of Facebookphone will be varied with different colours of a casing - including blue, white and red.
