New, tougher Xperia ZR

Published:

According to Xperiablog service, Sony will show us soon a new smartphone Xperia ZR. The model, known by the code name Dogo or C550x is to be even tougher than Xperia Z.

If the rumours are confirmed by the facts, the new Sony smartphone will meet the IP58 standard, will therefore be water resistant. It can be exposed to 1.5 metres of water for 30 minutes. We do not know whether it would have a glass enclosure as "Z", but it is stated that it will weigh about 140 g.

The phone is to have a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor, supported by 2 GB of RAM. It is also known the screen size (4.6 inches) and its resolution (720x1280 pixels). The Xperia ZR will also house a 13-megapixel Exmor RS camera and a battery with a capacity of 2300 mAh. On the list of equipment there is also 8GB of onboard memory and a microSD card slot. Unfortunately, the source service does not specify closer the release date of the new model and also does not publish any photos that might give credence to the above data.
