There are busy days to come. I've just got to test the latest Nokia Lumia 520. Before I introduce to you a more extensive review, I will report unpacking and share with you my experience during the first minutes of use.
Lumia 520 is the Nokia's cheapest proposal, a typical smartphone at the beginning of the adventures with Windows Phone. The Polish branch of Nokia pointed out that my test model came from a pre-production, so I note that according to the information I have received, the appearance of the packaging may vary a bit. The phone itself, when it hits the stores, shouldn't be different from mine. But I dare say that also the package doesn't have be modified, because it's maintained in a typical Nokia style.

A rigid box, apart from the phone and the battery, has the manual (in my case English one), very short USB cable (although I've seen in Nokia's even shorter!), and the charger with a microUSB connector. There is also a simple stereo headset with a microphone and a minijack connector, but they're lacking a key to answer and end calls. The set symbol is WH-108.

Nokia Lumia 520's design is similar to the other models in this series, and - in my opinion – it looks great. The dark front refering with the style to the Windows tile has a rectangular shape with slightly rounded corners only. The front with a 4-inch screen, 480x800 pixels and three mechanical buttons is surrounded with a narrow frame, created by a colourful back cover, which includes the sides of the phone and has a gently contoured shape. That cover is coloured blue, red, white, yellow and black. The plastic has a matte texture and is coloured throughout the mass, so any scratches will not be visible, and the grip is secure so the phone does not slip out of your hand.

The Lumia 520's sides are smooth - at the top there is only a headphone jack, a microUSB port at the bottom, and volume buttons and a camera switch went to the right side. For the last one - an applause please! At the back there are: the camera lens (without LED flash), the logo of Nokia and a speaker hole. The first impressions - positive. The phone is well-made, no crackles, material - fine. We'll see how it checks in practice...
