The lauch of the Samsung's smartwatch at the Berlin IFA is virtually certain. There were also a lot of leaks about it, but the last one is trustworthy, it comes in fact from developers, which got from Samsung several prototypes.
They revealed a lot of details on this design. It turned out that Samsung's smarwatch will have a 2.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 320x320 pixels. This gives a very impressive density of 181 ppi. According to a source quoted by the service, there are some minor differences between the prototypes, but mainly in the appearance. One thing is certain – we can forget about the flexible display running along the strip.
According to the today's leak, The watch screen will support the usual touch, swipe and select type gestures but will likely not have text-input. The watch has an accelerometer sensor, so that for example, the screen will light up after lifting arm to check the time. The device will also be equipped with NFC module, a webcam and speakers located along the strip. Developers also reported that the prototypes are running Android 4.1 or 4.2 and the applications for the watch (the supposed Galaxy Gear) will be distributed via Samsung Apps.
