Toshiba brought to the IFA in Berlin its premiere tablet Encore with Windows. The launch was not much publicized - I learned about it from a small banner in the vicinity of the fair.
The company brought to Berlin literally two pieces of this 8-inch device, and the Toshiba representative pointed out that this is not yet the final version. The Encore tablet is planned for later this year and will get even minor modifications. There will be certainly changes in the back panel. Now it is smooth, ultimately it is to have a porous texture. The tablet will be a little thinner, the front frame will be also tapered.

There will be no changes on the technical side. In the specification there will remain Atom processor supported by 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of disk space. The tablet will also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB, HDMI output and a microSD slot. The equipment will also consist of stereo speakers and two microphones, and the battery is to withstand 7 hours. The tablet hits the market with Windows 8.1, which will have pre-installed Office Home & Student in the full version. The price will not exceed 280 euro.
