During the presentation of Asus at IFA in Berlin we saw several launches, but there wasn't the new version of the tablet with a removable smartphone. The Taiwanese company held its launch by several days. It took place on Tuesday in Taipei.
Giving a name to its device, Asus has applied a scheme already tried on the Nexus tablet. The new generation is called in the same way as the previous one - Padfone Infinity. You can only tell them with the additional designation, printed in small print somewhere on the packaging.
The design of the device has not changed sufficiently to distinguish between the two generations, at first glance. The proven concept, according to which self-functioning smartphone is accompanied by a docking station with a screen, after connecting the whole tablet form, hasn't been changed. There are no changes also in a number of other elements, such as the 5-inch Super IPS display with a Full HD resolution. The battery still has a capacity of 2400 mAh, and the cameras have a 13- and 2- megapixel matrix. Both generations can also boast NFC module and Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi. The changes affected while other key components: memory and processor.

Let's start with RAM. In the operation section we still find 2GB bones, but faster: DDR3. You will also receive the opportunity to take advantage of a removable microSD card, at the expense of reducing the smartphone's built-in memory. MicroSD cards are now available in 16 or 32 GB versions, while in the previous generation there was a choice between 32 and 64 GB - but without the cards. The new model also supports a wider range of WCDMA ( 850/900/1900/2100 ), but from the list of supported LTE bands disappears 2100, so we have only LTE 800/1800/2600. Another new feature is Android 4.2.2 and a new casing colours: gray, pink and gold.

The most important, however, is the processor. In the new model there is Snapdragon 800 with 2.2 GHz clock. The conference also highlighted the introduction of an additional microphone with noise reduction system and software modifications of the main camera. It received PixelMaster technology, resembling somewhat Nokia's PureView. The camera analyzes and combines adjacent pixels to get a much clearer image, at the expense of its size. This kind of a photo has only 3 megapixels, but it can be taken in difficult lighting conditions.

The docking station has been changed only visually. It still has a 10.1-inch Super IPS display with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels and has a built-in battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh.
The smartphone was valued at $ 640, and a docking station for an additional $ 240.
