When we watched the LG G2 smartphone at the IFA, narrow frames of the display in the model made quite an impression on us. However, Sharp unveiled the phone, where after comparison G2 frame seems to be thick. In Sharp Aquos Xx the screen border was narrowed to the limits of common sense.
In Aquos Xx the display seems to take the whole front of the phone. A slightly wider margin was left only at the bottom. On the sides the screen almost touches the edge of the casing, at the top there is only a narrow mesh speaker, a camera eye and sensors. It looks amazing, but measured in absolute terms, the screen surface reaches 82% of the front, which - on the surface - does not look impressive. The display measures 5.5 inches and has a FullHD resolution and has been made in the S-CG Silicon TFT technology. The casing dimensions are 70x132x9,9 mm, so they are closer to models with a smaller screen by a half inch.
Besides it, Sharp Aquos Xx has a 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, supported by 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM. The smartphone also has a 16.3-megapixel camera with a CMOS sensor and a surprisingly small – in comparison with other parameters - battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh, located in a non-demountable body of the device. Sharp also prepared a Mini version. In Aquos Xx Mini we find similar components, but a built-in memory is reduced by half, and the camera has "only" 13.1 megapixels. Here, the screen measures 4.5 inches and unlike its big brother, it is made in IGZO technology. But it has still a stylish, extremely narrow frame. Both models will be in stores before the end of the year - but unfortunately only in Japan.
