In HTC One Max, which completed the missing link in the One family, there can be seen everywhere a desire for refinement of the product. Unfortunately you can also see lack of originality of some solutions and risky moves concerning the specifications.
Were you waiting for HTC One Max? After Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra it is another smartphone on the market with aspirations of the mini-tablet that will compete for the hearts and wallets of users. Take a look at a quick overview of the specifications. A lack of built-in stylus as in Note 3 is a little worrying, and also a relatively weak, strongly associated with the older architecture, the main unit - Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. HTC One's users may be discouraged a bit slightly less refined casing design, and those who like to have easy access to the battery - the inability of its independent exchanges.
The display is large
The display of the latest HTC baby is a 5.9 inches impressive quality Super LCD array. The nearly 6-inch screen is larger than the current on the market display Samsung Galaxy Note 3, while at the same resolution it has slightly lower density. Xperia Z Ultra, which HTC One Max also will compete, has in turn over a 6-inch screen working in full HD - which allows Max to overtake it in the category of density. HTC offers applications that allow you to easily create freehand sketches or notes, but it lacks the convenience of the prior art, which has a multi-function stylus from Note 3.

Responsiveness, sensitivity, image quality have a very satisfactory level, but at a higher CPU load, the smartphone has a slight delay in refreshing the image. A big size is good for viewing multimedia, and wide viewing angles, contrast and colour rendition place the Super LCD matrix at the forefront of such solutions next to LG flagships. It is hoped that all versions of smartphones throughout its sales will have available the exact same component. HTC has in its history a few episodes involving the exchange of displays already during the sale of the device, on the other hand, it ensures a high standard of image in its flagship models.
Cheap, with non-removable battery
The materials used in the housing construction are slightly worse than in HTC One, closer with the quality to a cheaper HTC One mini, and the manufacturer has decided to give users access to the back of the smartphone. You can remove the part of the housing and get the opportunity to exchange a micro-SIM and microSD, but not the battery because the battery in HTC One Max is not replaceable. However, it's very powerful and with a capacity of 3300 mAh allows for quite a long operation of the power hungry smartphone. The Chinese will get Dual-SIM version of One Max, and depending on the sales, the different options will also vary with supported 3G/4G frequencies - the full list can be found in the additional notes on the phone card.

At the top of the case there is actually an infrared interface and a power button was moved to the right edge of the smartphone. The fingerprint sensor, which allows to unlock the smartphone, is placed under the camera, if we previously wake it of sleep ( it is terribly inconvenient). - And I hoped HTC decides to give the sensor additional functions of the control on the screen similarly as in Japanese devices... Then the place where engineers put it would make sense. In the current situation, each release will involve not only the need to reverse the smartphone, but also often making the glass lens dirty. Taking into account the additional need to wake the device, imagine the need for rapid photographing or receiving phone calls in the morning, half asleep. With these dimensions, the device may disappoint with the lack of a mechanical shutter button camera - a shame.
Divorce with Beats Audio - welcome BoomSound
HTC One Max has two solid front speakers that offer a really nice experience coming from the presence of the playback of bass sound. If you like listening to loud music from your smartphone - this device offers at the moment one of the best - if not the best - sound quality among smartphones. The sound didn't lose anything after the divorce with Beats.

Camera – the same but without stabilization
If something is good, why to change it? I do not know, fortunately I am responsible for the marketing of any manufacturer of smartphones. HTC One Max has the same matrix as HTC One. The UltraPixel camera has a 4 megapixels matrix, but the pixel size of 2 microns. There is BSI sensor and really remarkable quality of photos. Flash (LED) flashes at a rate dependent on the distance from the subject, and a front webcam can record video in full HD. The software gives you a lot possibilities of editing both photo and video, and supporters of shooting in slow motion should be satisfied. Traditionally, One Max can record such video and play it back later at different speeds.

If something is good, why to change it? I still cannot answer the question from the previous paragraph - hence I am also not able to say why HTC has given up on earth with optical image stabilization present in HTC One. If I was the ace of the promotion, I would probably feel that by cutting costs I just shoot myself in the foot.
At the end two words about Max
In the latest HTC smartphone we will find Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5 with BlinkFeed social aggregator. The interface operates smoothly almost without exception, so do applications. Perhaps Snapdragon 600 is really enough? Depending on the version HTC One Max will offer a 16 or 32 GB of internal memory, of which a large part is used for the system and software.
You will be pleased with the battery life and the quality of the playback sound from the speakers. Probably also with the display, the quality is great. And yet I cannot shake the feeling that when we compare: HTC One users and users of HTC One Max the first win. - This leads to the conclusion that if you do not need the latest Android, big screen and inconvenient fingerprint scanner, for which you will pay with a lower quality housing, and an important option associated with taking pictures - you have no reason to be interested in HTC One Max.
