External mobile cameras Sony QX10 and QX100 have competitors - and they're from the well-known company. Kodak introduced a solution almost identical to Sony.
JK Imaging Company, that holds the worldwide licence for the Kodak name launches external photographic modules SL10 and SL25, designed to work with smartphones. Both devices are confusingly similar to earlier proposals of Sony. These are just external cameras, designed to be strapped to a smartphone communicating wirelessly with it. In other words - the phone functions in the role of a display and a control panel. The lens mounted in a housing with a matrix and image processor takes care of the rest. Both Kodak models use microSD cards as a carrier of data, both are equipped with optical image stabilization and the ability to record Full HD movies. The SL10 model has a lens with f/3.2-5.6 light and focal length of 28-280 mm, giving a value of 10x zoom. In turn, the SL25 has lens with 25x zoom, which is 24-600 mm. However, the manufacturer has not specified the parameters for the matrices of both "devices"... We know, however, that in the spring both devices should hit stores. Their prices are 200 and $ 300.
