Huawei announces a new budget smartphone Ascend Y530. The price of this model is not to exceed 150 euro. For this relatively low amount we'll obtain an attractively styled phone with pretty good specifications - but we cannot avoid some compromises. This is certainly not the equipment for a flagship...
Huawei Ascend Y530 has a quite nicely outlined housing, varied with coloured inserts. The phone is cheap, so it is difficult to look in it for top solutions. The heart of the machine is a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8210, supported by a modest 512 MB of memory. This kit will easily handle graphics at a resolution of 480x854 pixels on the 4.5-inch display. No revelations, but at this price we should not expect anything great. Let's hope that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Emotion UI overlay won't involve device resources too much... The phone also received a 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0, and a battery with a capacity of 1750 mAh, which seems to be sufficient. The housing has dimensions of 132.5 x67x9,3 mm and weighs 145 g. The internal memory is another element pointing conclusively to the budget class of the phone. 4 GB is sufficient only for minimalists, but fortunately there is also a slot for microSD memory cards so you can expand it by 32 GB. The low price and the specification adequate to it, rather won't attract the crowd of buyers, but I would sought the chances of this model rather in attractive appearance and operators' subsidies. In the role of the smartphone for a penny Huawei Ascend Y530 looks pretty good!
For those who require much more from a phone, Huawei prepares the flagship Ascend P7. It is possible that it will be announced at this year's MWC. For now, we only know that it will have a 5-inch FullHD display, a 1.6 GHz quad-core HiSilicon 910 processor and 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone is to have a 13-megapixel camera (with the filming in 4K?), an 8-megapixel front webcam and a battery with a capacity of 2460 mAh.
