After today's exploring the halls of the MWC 2014 I'm starting to lose the stereotype of the Chinese smartphone that I had in my mind. Yes, I saw mostly cheap, tacky bulk, but in the middle of it I found the stand of the Gionee company.
The manufacturer, which so far has granted its forces to other companies, providing their products to someone else's logo, begins finally an intensive work on its own brand. And it does it in a great style, which I admit reluctantly, but quite firmly.
Although at the Gionee stand there were presented only three phones, the exhibition was realized with a good swing. At the beginning I was greeted by the model E7 – an attractive smartphone with a rather impressive specification. Its heart is a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 8974AC processor supported by... 3 GB of RAM. The display has 5.5 inches and a Full HD resolution. There are also 32 GB of ROM, 16 MP main camera, 8 MP front camera and LTE connectivity. Great, isn't it?

A little further on I saw a Gionee hit - Elife 5.5, which name comes from the casing thickness, expressed in millimeters. I admit that I have not seen such a pretty mobile. The front and back covered with glass panes (with Gorilla Glass 3), while the core of the body is an aluminum frame performed by CNC machines from a single sheet of metal.

At the stand - besises the phone - we could see the successive stages of the formation of the marvelous housing. Elife 5.5 specification - although it is slightly weaker than the E7 - also inspires quite optimistic. The screen has 5 inches and a FullHD resolution and the processor is a 1.7 - gigahertz octa-core (probably 4 +4 cores). It is supplemented by a 13 MP camera and a wide-angle front 5 MP camera.
At the back of the stand there was yet another model with a neme: LTE. It's a little more modest structure that supports TDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA and GSM networks - and therefore quite global. Under the display there is a 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon MSM8928, and the photos and videos they record two cameras: a 5-megapixel front and 13-megapixel rear. Multimedia equipment complements the processor DTS Sound.

All these models use the Android system, equipped with a slightly modified interface. I have to admit that the whole is very attractive visually, and the copies presented at the fair worked very smoothly and stably.
Unfortunately, the presented Gionee models have a fairly limited distribution in Europe. It's a shame, because with its impressive specifications and a pretty good presence, their prices are - as we were assured – to be at reasonable, average level.
Connectivity during MWC 2014 was assured by T-Mobile
