HTC has recently neglected the mid-priced segment of phones. The Taiwanese company, however, makes up for the loss and plans to introduce two affordable models Desire 516 and Desire 316.
First, there have been rumours of Desire 516. It has to be a mid-range model with a 5- nch screen with a resolution of 960x540 pixels, which gives a density of 220 ppi . The smartphone will be available in two versions with slightly varying specifications. The variety Desire 516T will have 512 MB of RAM and 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, it will also receive Android 4.2. The second model, Desire 516w is to have a gigabyte of RAM, but the processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, however still quad-core. This model will also have a slightly higher system, Android 4.3. Both versions are to have identical 5-megapixel camera, a VGA webcam and plastic enclosures. Unfortunately, nothing is known about the plans for the distribution of the different varieties. At least one of them will appear in the version with a dual-SIM. The smartphone is designed for the Chinese market, we therefore suspect that some of the varieties is created specifically for a particular local operator.
HTC Desire 316, which leaked a few hours after the data of Desire 516, is to be a slightly poorer version. It is known that it will have a slightly reduced specification compared to 516, in contrast to the higher model it will be a single-SIM smartphone. The diagonal of the display and its resolution should not change, the camera probably will remain unchanged as well...
