Pete Lau - previously associated with the Oppo – stands behind OnePlus. Lau is the face of the whole project, but behind the company apparently there is a mysterious group of investors. We will not get into it - we are interested mainly in a product. And it - as I mentioned - is going to be quite good. It will be relatively inexpensive – the price of a version with 64 GB of memory will cost 300 euro.

For that amount we get a neat and pretty lightweight phone with a at 2.5 GHz quad core Krait Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and support for DDR3 RAM with a capacity of 3 GB. A 5.5-inch OnePlus One screen has a FullHD resolution, which translates into a 401 ppi density. OnePlus One is running CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4 KitKat. The smartphone received a magnesium-alloy casing, so that it weighs 162 g and became the lightest model in its class.

The housing dimensions are 152,9 x75,9x8,9 mm, wherein the body at the edges shrinks to 4.6 mm. On board there are stereo speakers prepared in collaboration with JBL and a camera with a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 and 6-element f/2.0 lens and a fast shutter with an opening time to 0.3 s. The camera can record videos at a resolution of 4K. The smartphone is powered with a non-removable battery with a capacity of 3100 mAh, and a purchaser will be able to replace the rear panel, giving it a unique style. StyleSwap panels will be covered with wood, fabrics or Kevlar, that everyone can find something for themselves.

The smartphone will be sold in the invitation system – it can only be purchased on the recommendation of the person who purchased it before. The phone should appear in the second quarter on the markets of Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Taiwan, UK and USA.
