N4BB blog has posted pictures of the new BlackBerry smartphone. According to the bloggers, the pictures show the model being codenamed Windermere, which is to hit the market as the BlackBerry Q30.
Unfortunately, as usually in the case of leaks, information about the new model is not very exhaustive. We know actually just what we can see. BB Q30 draws attention with unusual proportions of the housing that result from the use of a large touch screen and a mechanical QWERTY keyboard. The display has sides of equal length, and its diagonal can be estimated at least at 4 inches. BlackBerry has modified the keyboard, limiting it to three rows of buttons. The number of function keys is limited to backspace and enter, therefore, we can assume that the greater part of the interface service has been entrusted to the touchscreen display and the keyboard will be used only to enter text.
Other data should already be treated with much greater reserve - these are just rumours. The display resolution is to have 1440x1140 pixels, and the camera will have 13-megapixels. The heart of the smartphone is to be a quad-core Snapdragon processor, aided by 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 330 graphics. The phone will get a battery with a capacity of 3450 mAh.
