According to the latest rumours Samsung is working on glasses to generate the virtual reality effect. The site dedicated to the devices to the Korean giant prophesies that we will see VR Gear already at the beginning of September, at IFA in Berlin - along with the fourth generation of the Galaxy Note.
In order to create its own VR glasses, Samsung has partnered with a Oculus VR company creators of Oculus Rift glasses. Samsung Gear VR are created as a complement to a smartphone. The glasses will make use of a smartphone connected to USB 3.0 port on the role of media content, as well as the device delivering signals from motion and position sensors. The phone will also act as a camera, providing the background image for glasses, which - already on their own - convert the image to a three-dimensional and impose the additional background visuals. Gear VR are to have built-in OLED displays, lens assembly, as well as the touchpad to control. Along with the glasses Samsung has presented the SDK that will allow independent software developers to provide applications that use the device. SDK and test copies of glasses are to be available to developers immediately after the September presentation. Unfortunately, it is not known when the equipment will hit the consumer market.
