Amazon unveiled a refreshed range of tablets. There were presented Fire HDX 8.9 and related Fire HD 6 and HD 7, which will also be offered in a version dedicated for children.
The top model - Fire HDX 8.9 - is similar to last year's edition, however, it has a different processor. Now it is a quad-core Snapdragon 805 2.5 GHz with Adreno 420 graphics - and this is the first application of this system in a tablet. A new feature in this model system is also Dolby Atmos sound system, which aims to provide much better sound than at their competitors. The 8.9-inch tablet has a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. The price - from $ 380 for a version with 16GB.

Other novelties include Fire HD 6 and HD 7. Both models feature quad-core processors clocked at 1.5 GHz, have 2-megapixel cameras and VGA webcams, as well as 8 or 16 GB of memory. They differ only in the size of the screens. Both the 6-inch and a larger one, offer a resolution of 800x1280 pixels. Prices are between 100 and 140 dollars. Both tablets will be offered also in a version for kids: with reinforced casing, 2-year warranty covering insurance against equipment damage, and enhanced parental control options. These varieties are expected to cost $ 150.

All new Amazon tablet use the new platform Fire OS 4 Sangria presented along with them. The Android-based system introduces a number of modifications to increase thesmoothness of the action and added a number of services offered by Amazon. The cheapest models will go on sale on October 2, while the Fire HDX 8.9 and models for children - should appear later.
