It is possible that Samsung will soon replace its overlay on Android - TouchWiz – with a completely new solution, called Iconic UX. This would occur with the introduction of Android L on smartphones.
This is indicated by a patent, which recently leaked to the network. We see in it a whole new approach to a phone service. Iconic UX combines the familiar icons with the new bars of information that would be placed on the screen in horizontal, animated tiles. The interface has a trendy, flat style, and its motto seems to be stretching the desktop vertically, and not as so far - panels scrolled horizontally.

Of course the fact that the solution went for a patent does not mean it will automatically be entered into the phones. Remember, however, that the existing TouchWiz is not too popular - and therefore, it may be a time for a change? In addition, the sketches released today quite correspond to screenshots published by @evleaks even before the release of Galaxy S5 - and this may be indicative of a good progress of work on the new overlay.
