A few years ago we recognized that Apple guards its secrets well. Today - every release of a new device from Cupertino is accompanied by a wave of leaks coming from dozens of concern's subcontractors. The Apple finally recognized the problem and introduced "a bogey".
Now the company, which is found not to disclose confidential information about new Apple products, may be fined: in an amount not less than $ 50 million. For large corporations - such as Samsung - this amount is a little thing, but for smaller companies a need to pay such a compensation can be deadly. The case came to light thanks to the GT Advanced Technologies company, which was to produce sapphire glass on the iPhone display, and which is just going bankrupt.
The company was to produce for Apple and had invested large amounts, and was stranded. The company owes Apple almost $ 600 millionin advance payments for the production of displays, which it will not sell, but at the same time it cannot offer to other companies, because it would be a violation of the agreement with Apple and it would be threatened punishment. GT, however, has petitioned a New Hampshire district court to help declare Apple's "oppressive" non-disclosure agreement to be null and void, saving it from the penalty and helping it to convince buyers that it's worth picking up the valuable sapphire crystal production hardware.
Unfortunately, we do not know since when Apple has threatened punishment for revealing secrets. Given the amount of leaks about iPhone 6 - I think it's very recent...
