Samsung unveiled the world's first fully flexible battery. The battery is working properly even when wrapped around the cylindrical-shaped object such as a mug or - more likely in the future - around the wrist.
The device has been designed with the thought of wearable technologies. Thin, rolled, flexible battery has been presented in South Korea during the convention InterBattery 2014. Tthanks to the enhanced flexibility it can be bent, also in a U-shape, and wraped around objects - ultimately around the wrist. This will allow for the future Samsung products in the field of wearable technology were more comfortable and more practical, and their projects bolder and breaking established norms.
The company has completed the design phase of the battery. The technology will now pass a series of tests of safety and reliability. It is a continuation of the curved battery with a capacity of 210 mAh, used in the watch Samsung Gear Fit. Moreover, during the convention, Samsung also unveiled a small battery, designed for the wearable technology. The battery is 3.6 mm wide and 20 mm long, and its capacity is 10 mAh.
