The phone project consisting of modules, being prepared by Google has a dangerous competition. The Finnish company Circular Devices has just presented its concept of the phone "from blocks". Puzzlephone differs slightly from the Project Ara, but the general principle of the construction is the same.
In contrast to the Google phone, Puzzlephone will offer a smaller amount of variants. The phone will create three elements. Spine is the core of the phone. It is to include the display and part of the most important elements. A user will be able to replace the other two parts of the machine. The heart is the module that contains the battery and - possibly - additional elements, such as a biometric scanner or communication modules. The second removable part is the Brain. As you probably guessed, this section will include a processor, a memory, and a camera. Everything will be maintained in the harsh Scandinavian style.

The Finns have been working on the design for over a year, and within a few months they intend to present the first working prototypes. Circular Devices, like the Ara Project, intends to offer three sizes of "spines" to choose from. Other segments will, however, have a unified shape and will fit into any of the main modules. The smartphone is to be based on Android, but it was not ruled out the use of solutions with other programming platforms.
