Sharp unveiled the first two phones for this year. The compact Aquos mini and the clamshell Aquos K will come soon to KDDI offers - but, unfortunately, it's not likely to be available outside of Japan.
It is a pity, because both structures promise to be interesting... Aquos mini received a 4.5-inch IGZO full HD display with 487 ppi density, surrounded by a very thin and stylish frame in the spirit of "Edgest Design". The screen is variable, depending on the needs of frame rates, which helps to reduce the power consumption of the battery with a capacity of 2120 mAh. The phone housing measuring 63x124x9,9 mm is of course waterproof (IP57), and will be offered in four different colours.

The heart of the phone is a 2.3 GHz quad-core MSM8974AB processor, supported by 2 GB of RAM. On board you will also find 16 GB of ROM, a microSD card slot up to 128 GB and support for LTE, WiMAX and VoLTE. There will be a Bluetooth module 4.0 and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, as well as a set of photo. The main camera has a 13.1-megapixel sensor and the front - 1,2-megapixel. Aquos Mini runs on Android 4.4.

Aquos K is a completely different design - in the form of a stylish clamshell. This model will be also offered in a variety of different colours, but - interestingly – it doesn't have a decent external display. Instead, it has a small monochrome screen to display notifications. The main 3.4-inch qHD display is hidden inside a flip, along with a large, classic keyboard. Aquos K is a feature-phone, using a 1.2 GHz quad-core MSM8926 CPU and 1GB of RAM and 8 GB of ROM. The second of the media can be expanded by a 32 GB microSD card. The phone measuring 51x113x16,9 mm has the battery with a capacity of 1410 mAh and is of course waterproof. Interestingly, it supports LTE...
