WMC 2015: Huawei - Watch, TalkBand N1 and B2

Published:

Huawei, at this year's Mobile World Congress, presented the most mobile of its products - wearable's. For many, this may be disappointing. But I think that is something to be interested in.

In recent days, from more or less official information, we could find out that Huawei would surprise us with wearable technology. After a not very interesting TalkBand B1 - available on the market for some time - feelings about the presentation of new smart wristbands and watches, were various... Only until the presentation. It is good! They didn't show new phones, but without that the Chinese tycoon of the mobile solutions market, has led to a number of audience applause.

The star of the conference was the smart watch - Huawei Watch. There was mainly praised its design and execution, which actually stands on a high level. The smart watch case is round and is made of high quality, cold-forged stainless steel. The screen is not plastic, but thoroughbred sapphire crystals. The dial, in turn, is already well known AMOLED, but so far the highest resolution of 286 ppi, and contrast of 10,000: 1.

It was not forgotten about straps, the choice of which is to dazzle with the amount of versions and colours. Additionally, it is possible to use standard straps. The watch itself, however, will be available in three colours - black, silver and gold.

We cannot miss the message about the scheduled standby time of the watch on a single charge. In this case, the manufacturer boasts of 29 days.

It is powered by the normal Android Wear with Google Now overlay. This gives the possibility of calling, previewing messages and e-mails and connecting to a Facebook account. The watch is packed with a range of health tracking functions and sensors.

Normally they gather information about the heart rate, number of steps, the distance covered and calories burned. Huawei provides that with the use of 6-Axis sensor, these data will not be corrupted. There is also a barometer. It will tell us about the altitude at which we are currently in.

The second device presented by Huawei is Bluetooth headset - TalkBand N1. It has a combined function of the headset and the music player. It has 4 GB of built-in memory, allowing you to save thousands of songs in MP3 format. Paired with a smartphone, TalkBand N1 is also a health and sports tracker with functionalities include step counting, distance calculation, calorie consumption tracking, and more.

An interesting feature is the use of a magnet, allowing to connect headphones and wear them as a necklace. TalkBand was also adequately protected against the effects of flooding and dust – it has has an IP54 dustproof and waterproof level. The product will be available in three colours - silver, gold and pink. There will also be about twenty types of earbuds.

The recommended retail price is 119 euro.

Huawei has also refreshed its first smart band, presenting its second incarnation in the form of TalkBand B2. This time, its functionality has been extended with a Bluetooth headset. To build the band body there was used aluminum alloy bar the strap is to appear in a leather or plastic hypoallergenic version.

As in the case of the watch to monitor the physical activity there was used the same 6-Axis sensor. TalkBand B2 has superb battery performance allowing it to operate up to five days, support continuous call time up to six hours, and 12 days’ standby time
