A completely different user interface philosophy in Ubuntu smartphones deters some visitors at the fair, but after a few moments it is easy to see its functionality and logic. Everything is available on the shift of a finger - you just need to learn how to do it.
I wasn't convinced by neither a swift and efficient demonstration of the new system with intuitive new interface, nor the later conversation with the representative from the press office. Ubuntu is an alternative – it's all I can say. It seems to be a bit more open than Android, you can control it a bit more. It has a much more configurable possibilities of each desktop, but for me it is not intuitive, just like Sailfish.

The development team is still working on improvements, dedicated applications. We can see consistency in this work and there is a strong support from the fans of the system. Perhaps a longer contact with an innovative interface would convince me more.

And maybe it is worth, because in the offer of smartphones with Ubuntu there is not only an affordable bq Aquarius E4.5 for 170 euro, but also a high-end premium smartphone Meizu MX4 with 5.36-inch JDI display with a resolution of 1920x1152 pixels, made by Sharp with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. A 2 megapixel front camera, at the rear - 20.7 megapixels. In this device, the system actually gets wings. The presentation was geared more for a demonstration of the system, not the equipment, that is why at the exhibition tables there is no specification of both devices, but the technical data can of course be found in our catalogue.
