Xiaomi unveiled the smartphone Redmi 2A, which is a cheaper variant of the recently presented in India model Redmi 2. The new model is quite similar to the original, but it has a different processor - and a price.
A popular Snapdragon 410 processor, which we had in Redmi 2, in the Redmi 2 model has been replaced by a quad-core Leadcore L1860C unit with a 1.5 GHz clock, supported by a gigabyte of RAM and Mali T628MP2 graphics. Other pieces of equipment are virtually identical, as in Redmi 2. Xiaomi Redmi 2A has a 4.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and a battery with a capacity of 2200 mAh with the option of fast charging.

On board we also have 8 GB of memory, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 5-element lens F2.2, 28 mm. The camera supports the 2-megapixel front webcam. The phone is also equipped with two SIM card slots, LTE module and a removable rear cover, available in five colours.

The phone also has a noise reduction system with two microphones, and Android 4.4 KitKat with the overlay MIUI 6. All together is priced at 600 yuan, which is equivalent of $ 97. The promotional sale for the price of 500 yuan, or 80 USD was announced on April 8.
