It's probably the strangest launch among this year flagships. After several months of waiting, the wave of leaks, conjecture and speculation, Sony Xperia Z4 debuts… in Japan. Just after a quiet, local conference there was published a press release...
Today we know that many of the earlier leaks were accurate: there won't be any revolution. The phone has retained the style known from the previous generations, its interior was significantly changed. The phone has received a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor based on four cores Cortex-A57 and four Cortex-A53 and supported by 3 GB of RAM. The smartphone has 32 GB internal memory and a microSD card slot up to 128 GB, and the battery has a capacity of 2930 mAh. The smartphone has received a 5.2-inch FullHD, which gives a factor of 424 ppi density.

Changes also affected the photographic section. The main camera with a 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS sensor received a special mode for shooting food, while the front camera with a 5.1-megapixel sensor now has a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 25 mm. The phone has also LDAC proprietary technology, which improves sound quality transmitted over Bluetooth. The housing - as I mentioned - looks almost the same as in the previous model, but it is a bit slimmer. Sony Xperia Z4 has dimensions 146 x 72 x 6.9 mm and weighs 144 g.

It is worth noting that the casing is waterproof - meets the requirements of IP68. Xperia Z4 receives at the start Android 5.0 Lollipop, but the Japanese do not indicate how the purchaser of this flagship is going to show that he bought the latest model. I suggest a special sticker with a big logo Z4...

They haven't also informed about the phone price or plans of its sales outside Japan. Interestingly, there was given the price of a dedicated Cover Window, with a cutout for easy handling and colour-matched to the colour of the Z4 housing. Covers costs approx. $ 60.

Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru service reports that the model presented today may be intended solely for the Japanese market - while international variant of the Sony flagship will be announced in May. The "world" variant may vary from that today model. The fact that this is a model exclusively for the Japanese market was also confirmed by the Polish branch of Sony.
