Court battles between corporations are entering a whole new level. This time we will witness a clash between two giants in China: ZTE sues Huawei!
According to ZTE, the solutions adopted by Huawei in models P8 and MediaPad X2 infringe the intellectual property of the claimant. From the documents published by ZTE on Chinese social networking site Weibo results that it is about technologies for image processing. ZTE says that there were violated patents related to recording images in slow motion and technology of image processing for mobile devices. In the first case, it may be a "painting with light" - that is the flagship function of the camera in P8, and the second of the allegations is quite extensive and it is difficult to infer, at which point Huawei could violate the rights of ZTE. The lawsuit includes a request for suspension of the production of the disputed equipment, which for the third producer of smartphones in the world could be a quite severe problem. In the post on Weibo ZTE writes: "Nubia phone camera technology has been committed to research and development, and has started to obtain the relevant patents, we strive to promote the development of innovative technology to the mobile phone industry. Faced with a large range of Huawei Technologies Co., plagiarism, we felt it was time to stand up and use the law to maintain order in the industry healthy competition." So far Huawei has not taken a position on this matter.
