For some time there have been rumours of new smartphones from Microsoft. Today, we finally have some specifics: there are names and residual data of two flagship models, and the first picture reportedly showing new models. Of course we are still in the realm of unofficial rumours...
The new flagship will be built in two closely related varieties. The smartphones for the time being are hidden under the names Cityman and Talkman, but the service Nowhereelse says that they will receive the designations Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL. It is possible - after all, Microsoft has already applied a similar procedure in the case of Lumia 640.
The smartphones Cityman and Talkman are to receive displays with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, and 3 GB of RAM and 20-megapixel cameras of 1440 x 2560 pixels and the front camera with 5 megapixels. The 940 series models are to have up to 32 GB of memory and a microSD card slot. The models have different processors and displays size. Lumia 940 aka Talkman is to have a screen size of 5.2 inches and a six-core Snapdragon 808 processor, while Lumia 940XL or Cityman will have a 5.7-inch screen and an octa-core Snapdragon 810.
We can expect the presentation of both models in the second half of this year - it will be probably with the release of Windows 10 or shortly thereafter.
