In the near future - but probably not at the IFA - Samsung is to present two new affordable models. Galaxy Grand On and Mega On are to be inexpensive, but right from the start equipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Samsung Galaxy Grand On, bearing the designation SM-G550, is to receive a 5-inch HD display and a quad-core Exynos 3475 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and the ARM Mali T720 graphics. In line with the hardware budget, we cannot expect miracles in this model. There will be only 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, fortunately, with the option to expand with a microSD card. The camera will also be modest, an 8-megapixel, but there is a nice consolation, because we'll get a 5-megapixel front webcam. The phone has a battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh. The dimensions of the phone are to be 142 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm and the weight of 140 g.
Samsung Galaxy Mega On - true to its name will be a bigger device, equipped with a 5.5-inch display - but unfortunately still with the HD resolution. The internal memory will be as small as in Grand On, but RAM capacity will increase to 1.5 GB. The heart of this model will be a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with a clock of 1.2 GHz. Galaxy Mega On will receive an identical set of cameras as Grand On, but fortunately its battery will be slightly higher - 3000 mAh. In this model dimensions are 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2 mm and the weight - 145 g.
