The Times News service published a list of Samsung models in the order in which they will receive an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As the first on the list, we can obviously see the flagship models, but there is also, for example Galaxy Alpha.
Later this year, the upgrade will get Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920G) and Galaxy S6 Edge+ (SM-928G). In January 2016 the update will wait for Galaxy S6 (SM-G920I) and Galaxy S6 Edge (SM-G925I). In February, Note 4 (SM-910g) and Galaxy Note Edge (SM-915G). It is true that Galaxy S5 (SM-G900G) and Galaxy Alpha (SM-G850Y) are to receive Android Marshmallow in the first place, but no specific date has been approved.
The second phase of upgrades includes next 6 models, but there is no information about when it could start:
- Samsung Galaxy A8 (SM-A8000)
- Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A700F)
- Samsung Galaxy A5 (SM-A500F)
- Samsung Galaxy A3 (SM-A300F)
- Samsung Galaxy E7 (SM-E700H)
- Samsung Galaxy E5 (SM-E500H)
For the rest models, compatible with the new system there is also a chance. There talks about it a small postscript under the tables suggesting that after the necessary tests there will be the third phase of update. Its date also is unfortunately not known.
