We already know what CAT will present at the MWC. It will be a hard blow: CAT S60 is a smartphone with increased strength, equipped with a thermal camera.
This unique device was developed in collaboration with Flir, specializing in thermal imaging technology. CAT S60 can take thermal pictures of objects from a distance of 15-30 m. The camera can also record thermal video with a resolution of 80x60 pixels. In addition, CAT S60 can also perform a normal, 13-megapixel photos, it also has a front camera with a resolution of 5 megapixels.
The smartphone features a 4.7-inch HD screen covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The heart of the phone is a Snapdragon 617processor, supported by 3 GB of RAM. S60 also has 32 GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot and a battery with a capacity of 3800 mAh. The device supports LTE network and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
CAT S60 has, of course, a specially reinforced and waterproof housing. The phone can be immersed to 2 meters, and after sealing the speaker and a microphone with special yellow caps, it will withstand up to 5 meters below the surface. An interesting piece of equipment is also a speaker with the strength of 105dB. It is built to withstand drops onto concrete from up to 1.8 meters. Unfortunately, this advanced gadget cannot be cheap. CAT S 60 will cost approx. $ 600.
